This project examines how Canada’s transatlantic relationship<\/strong> with various partners in Europe is affected by Brexit<\/strong> — the process of negotiating and implementing the withdrawal of the United Kingdom (UK) from the European Union (EU). The project focuses on four aspects of the Canada-Europe relationship: (a) trade and investment; (b) security and defence; (c) environment and energy; as well (d) as political relations and identities. The study is jointly conducted by four Canadian scholars of European affairs and Canada-Europe relations<\/strong>: Achim Hurrelmann (杏吧原创 University, principal investigator), Petra Dolata (University of Calgary), Patrick Leblond (University of Ottawa) and Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric M\u00e9rand (Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al). The project is funded for a five-year period (2019-2024) through an Insight Grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).
