The Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence and Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies (EURUS) will co-host a roundtable, “Ukraine’s Refugees in Europe – Needs, Policies and Responses”.<\/p>\n

Since February 24, 2022, when the Russian invasion of Ukraine began, approximately 10 mil. Ukrainians have been displaced, with more than 4 mil. sheltering in the neighbouring European countries. According to the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) Commissioner, Filippo Grandi, this is \u201cthe fastest growing refugee crisis in Europe since World War II.\u201d<\/p>\n

This roundtable brings together experts from Europe and Canada to discuss the current situation of Ukrainian refugees, the responses of the European Union and Canada to the ongoing humanitarian crisis, and possible lessons learned from other conflicts with recent mass migration.<\/p>\n
