This round-table reviews how the EU\u2019s Common Foreign and Security Policy, NATO, and Europe-Russia relations are perceived in different EU member states, and how these perceptions have influenced attempts to respond to concerns about a potential Russian invasion of Ukraine.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Moderator:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/polisci\/people\/hurrelmann-achim\/\">Achim Hurrelmann<\/a>, 杏吧原创 University<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Panelists:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/eurus\/people\/debardeleben-joan\/\">Joan DeBardeleben<\/a>, 杏吧原创 University<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swp-berlin.org\/en\/researcher\/annegret-bendiek\">Annegret Bendiek<\/a>, German institute for International and Security Affairs<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uniroma3.it\/persone\/amYxRVRTMC91RG9YS0FmZ3Y3Q1FYUzArMzFETU5PTUNvZ1RmM1N4YkFZaz0=\/\">Luca Ratti<\/a>, University of Rome III<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>杏吧原创 the panelists:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Joan DeBardeleben<\/strong> is Chancellor\u2019s Professor in the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/eurus\/\">Institute of European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies<\/a> and Co-Director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/ces\/\">Centre for European Studies<\/a> at <a href=\"http:\/\/carleton.ca\">杏吧原创 University<\/a>. She also holds the <a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/eureast\/\">Jean Monnet Chair in the EU\u2019s Eastern Neighbourhood Relations<\/a>.\u00a0 Her recent research focuses on relations between the EU and Russia, as well as elections and regional politics in Russia.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annegret Bendiek<\/strong> is Deputy Head of the research division &#8220;EU\/Europe&#8221; at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swp-berlin.org\/en\/\">German institute for International and Security Affairs<\/a> (SWP) and currently a Visiting Professor at 杏吧原创 University. Since 2005, she has researched fundamental issues of European foreign and security policy. She has served in the planning staff of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.auswaertiges-amt.de\/en\">German Federal Foreign Office<\/a>, was a Robert Bosch Fellow at the Transatlantic Academy &#8220;The Future of the Liberal Order&#8221;, and was a Visiting Fellow at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gmfus.org\/\">German Marshall Fund<\/a> in Washington, DC.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Luca Ratti<\/strong> is Associate Professor of History of International Relations at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uniroma3.it\/\">University of Rome III<\/a> and Adjunct Professor of International Relations at the <a href=\"https:\/\/aur.edu\/\">American University of Rome<\/a>. He is currently a Visiting Professor at 杏吧原创 University. His research and teaching interests include US-European relations, the evolution of NATO, European security and defense policies, and international relations theory.<\/p>\n<p>This event is free and open to the public.
