European Environmental Governance: Options for Cooperation /ces/2009/european-environmental-governance-options-for-cooperation/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=european-environmental-governance-options-for-cooperation Mon, 28 Sep 2009 14:29:03 +0000 http://carleton.ca/ces/?p=4402 R. Andreas Kraemer, Ecologic Institute (Berlin, Vienna, and Washington, DC)

Successive policy challenges and EU enlargement have added layers of policy, legislation, and institutions to create the current system for addressing environment, climate, energy, and sustainable development. A key factor is the importance of formal and informal fora or platforms for transnational policy learning. This may be of interest to Canada, not only in view of market access and transatlantic regulatory cooperation, but also as a way to disseminate Canadian success stories and technologies and identify policy solutions that might be adapted and adopted. R. Andreas Kraemer, spells out what might be done to enhance cooperation in this important area.

Active in sustainable development, environment policy, climate and energy policies for over 20 years, R. Andreas Kraemer has been Director of Ecologic Institute since its foundation in 1995.
