罢丑别听Centre for European Studies Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence is pleased to announce a one-day symposium on Anti-Genderism in Today鈥檚 Europe, with scholars joining us from Hungary, Brussels and Munich. This is an听in-person symposium on the 杏吧原创 campus.

***Registration for this event is required due to space availability; please register below.***

Background:听We have witnessed unprecedented changes in gender and sexual rights in many parts of Europe, affecting the lives of LGBTQIA persons in indelible ways. And yet, in recent years, new waves of resistance have surfaced against so-called “gender ideology,” queer theory, and trans rights. Often, as in the case of Poland and Hungary, the opposition has been mounted by illiberal groups intent on undermining democratic institutions. Recently, liberal democracies have become sites of contestation around gender equality, reproductive rights, sex education, and transgender rights raising essential questions about the role, place, and legacy of anti-discrimination policies in today’s Europe.

杏吧原创 the event: In this one-day symposium, Drs. David Paternotte (Bruxelles), Paula Villa Braslavsky (LMU), and Andrea Pet枚 (CEU) will participate in a public roundtable on the current state of anti-gender mobilizations in Europe today.
