The Jean Monnet Network on EU-Canada Relations will host a research webinar, “Energy Transitions and Decarbonization in Canada and Germany: Determinants of Change, Industrial Impacts and the Way Forward “, moderated by Professor Stephan Schott (School of Public Policy and Administration, 杏吧原创 University), with presentations by PhD candidate Simon Dessureault (School of Public Policy and Administration, 杏吧原创 University) and MA student Abou Baker Kaddour (Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, 杏吧原创 University).<\/p>\n

The presenters will offer their insights on energy transition, policy instruments, and responses in the private sector. <\/em>\u00a0Following the presentation will be a discussion and question and answer period.<\/p>\n

This seminar is geared towards scholars, graduate students, and practitioners. Please feel free to share this invitation with interested colleagues at your university or organization.<\/p>\n

Quebec Cap-and-Trade System, Emissions Abatement and Economic Performance: A Firm-Level Analysis<\/em><\/p>\n

Simon Dessureault is pursing his PhD in Public Policy at 杏吧原创 University where he is conducting research on carbon pricing policy.\u00a0 More precisely, he is assessing the link between carbon pricing, emissions abatement, and economic performance in the industrial sector.<\/p>\n

The German Energy Transition Between Energy Independence and Decarbonization<\/em><\/p>\n

Abou Baker Kaddour is a second-year MA International Affairs student the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, 杏吧原创 University. He has an MA in Sustainable Energy Policy from 杏吧原创 University (2020) and BSc. Electrical-Electronic engineering from Zirve University (2016) (currently Gaziantep University) in Turkey.<\/p>\n
