Campus-wide access to Brightspace starts on February 16,<\/strong> with access to the new Learning Management System (LMS) and a personal sandbox. You\u2019ll be able to log in to Brightspace using your existing MC1 credentials by visiting: brightspace.carleton.ca<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s waiting on the other side of the login? A refreshing new interface and exciting new ways to engage your students!<\/p>\n

Many Courses Are Already Migrated <\/strong><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re wondering about the course content you\u2019ve already set up, we\u2019ve got you covered. To date, approximately three years\u2019 worth of cuLearn course content has been imported into Brightspace and more course migrations are on the way before June. If you\u2019ve taught a course within the past few years in cuLearn, your content is likely available and ready for review in Brightspace.<\/p>\n

When you start building your course, you\u2019ll find Kaltura\/MediaSpace, Zoom, BigBlueButton, H5P and Office365 are already configured and available. cuPortfolio and Poll Everywhere integrations are on the way before May.<\/p>\n

The Brightspace Pilot Leads the Way<\/strong><\/p>\n

A small group of enthusiastic instructors, TAs and students are already using the new system. The Brightspace pilot launched January 6 with 26 instructors, 29 TAs and 790 students in 31 courses. These intrepid explorers are providing much needed information about the LMS setup to help fine-tune the system in preparation for campus-wide access. In a few months, you\u2019ll hear about their experiences in late-spring showcase events.<\/p>\n

Abundant Support Options for the New LMS<\/strong><\/p>\n

When you start exploring Brightspace and have questions, you\u2019ll have a few options for getting support. Teaching and Learning Services (TLS) has a brand new Brightspace Support site<\/a> with instructions and information to assist you. D2L Brightspace Support is available 24\/7\/365 for phone, chat and email assistance. The TLS Educational Technology Team is standing by to offer course consultations, assist with your migrated content, and help you find ways to do what you need to do!<\/p>\n

Training Opportunities Are Already Available<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you\u2019d like a guided tour, TLS is hosting Brightspace Basics training workshops online throughout February and beyond. Sign up for a session today<\/a>! We\u2019ll show you what teaching and learning looks like in Brightspace and give you the information you need to get started.<\/p>\n

Brightspace will replace cuLearn as 杏吧原创\u2019s LMS for all courses in May 2021. It\u2019s faster, more reliable, and features a clean, modern design and new ways to help students succeed.
