You can easily transfer content from an entire course into another course shell or only copy only select specific components (Announcements, Files, Assignments, etc.) to a new course.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" id=\"kmsembed-1_p37ccgmy\" class=\"kmsembed\" title=\"Copying Content Between Courses in Brightspace\" src=\"https:\/\/mediaspace.carleton.ca\/embed\/secure\/iframe\/entryId\/1_p37ccgmy\/uiConfId\/36153741\/st\/0\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" sandbox=\"allow-downloads allow-forms allow-same-origin allow-scripts allow-top-navigation allow-pointer-lock allow-popups allow-modals allow-orientation-lock allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox allow-presentation allow-top-navigation-by-user-activation\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%; background-color: #f5f5f5; border: 1px; border-style: solid; border-color: #dcdcdd; padding: 12px 12px 1px;\">\n<p><strong>NOTES:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The classlist, student data (submitted assignments, discussion posts, etc.), release conditions, and manually added calendar events cannot be imported. <a href=\"https:\/\/community.brightspace.com\/s\/article\/Components-for-Import-Export-Copy\">See which course components can be imported, exported, or copied between courses<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Imported Intelligent Agents will be inactive by default and must be manually enabled<\/strong>. The import\/copy function will replicate all associated settings and restrictions except for Release Conditions, which require the additional \u201cRelease Conditions\u201d option to be selected as well. If these Release Conditions are related to the Classlist (e.g., course enrolment, group enrolment, etc), these conditions will not become associated with the new course when copied. In any case, it is always a good practice to double check and adjust your settings before activating them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 100%; height: 100%; background-color: #f7e4e7; border: 1px; border-style: solid; border-color: #e08290; padding: 12px 12px 1px;\">\n<p><strong>WARNING: <\/strong>Copying course content works best at the whole course level. Copying smaller portions of the course, such as Modules or HTML Templates, can cause unexpected results, such as broken links, missing images, and broken content.<\/p>\n<p>Be aware, however, that Copying an entire course will transfer the origin course&#8217;s Calendar as well. This will cause certain course-specific Calendar entries, such as Zoom Meeting events and manually created entries, to copy over to the destination course.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To avoid unwanted course items, we recommend following the &#8220;Copy Specific Course Components&#8221; method below and selecting every component except the Calendar.<\/strong> Any dates generated by tools, such as Assignments and Quizzes, will create new entries in the destination course.<\/p>\n<p>If you are not sure which method is best for your situation or are unsure how to do this, please create a support request using the <a tabindex=\"-1\" title=\"https:\/\/itsjira.carleton.ca\/servicedesk\/customer\/portal\/15\" href=\"https:\/\/itsjira.carleton.ca\/servicedesk\/customer\/portal\/15\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TLS Support Portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<h2>Copy an Entire Brightspace Course<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Sign into <a href=\"https:\/\/brightspace.carleton.ca\/\">Brightspace<\/a>\u00a0with your <em>My杏吧原创One<\/em> credentials.<\/li>\n<li>Locate the new\/empty course where you want to bring content into in one of the following ways:\n<ul>\n<li>Select the course tile under the <em>My Courses\u00a0<\/em>widget.<\/li>\n<li>Select the <b>Course Selector Grid\u00a0<\/b><i><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/culearnsupport\/students\/wp-content\/uploads\/Screen-Shot-2020-11-02-at-8.15.40-PM.png\" width=\"22\" height=\"20\" data-imagetype=\"External\" \/>\u00a0<\/i>and select the course from the drop-down menu. Your selected course should now appear under Course to Copy.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Copy All Components<\/strong>. Select the checkboxes to select or de-select a component. If you are exporting individual items within a component, you will be prompted to select the individual items.<\/li>\n<li>Confirm that the items you want to export are listed on the <em>Confirm Components to Export<\/em> page.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Export<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>You will see the message &#8220;<label id=\"z_b\"><em>Your export has been started. You will receive a notification in the Update Alerts when it has completed<\/em>.&#8221; Select <strong>Done<\/strong>.<\/label><\/li>\n<li>You will receive a <strong>notification<\/strong> in the mini-bar when the export is complete. Select the <strong>Export finished<\/strong> notification message to return to the <em>Import\/Export\/Copy Components<\/em> tool in your course.<\/li>\n<li>Select the <strong>Click here to download the export Zip package<\/strong> link.
