These tools are designed to boost student engagement, support collaboration, improve feedback quality, and manage real-time visibility of student progress.

Selecting a FeedbackFruits Activity

At 杏吧原创 University, instructors have access to nine different Feedback Fruits activities.

The types of activities can be broadly classified into Assessment & Feedback, Social Learning and Discussion, and Forming Student Groups.

It may seem daunting to select which Feedback Fruits Activity will best suit your course’s needs. This graphic flowchart will help instructors select the activity that best fits their lesson. You can find more information about each of these tools in the FeedbackFruits Suite section.

Edit Start Dates, Due Dates, or End Dates

In Brightspace, instructors can set a quiz

  • Start Date,
  • End Date, and
  • Due Date

A quiz Start Date is the time and date in which students are first permitted to access and start the quiz. The End Date is the last time and date in which students are permitted to start their quiz (and still have the full length of time to complete the quiz).

NOTE: The End Date does not end the quiz automatically.

A quiz Due Date听has no impact on the quiz other than to flag the quiz as having been submitted late if students submit beyond the Due Date.

NOTE: Unless you are using your quiz as an assignment, most quizzes do not require a Due Date.

To Edit Start Dates, End Dates, or Due Dates:

Apply Single-Session Lock (Session Restrictions) to optimize security

To support academic integrity during invigilated, on-campus exams, instructors can now enable a听Single-Session Restriction听for Brightspace quizzes. This “In-Person Quiz Tool” locks a student鈥檚 attempt to their specific device and browser the moment they begin. If a student closes their window or tries to switch devices, the attempt is immediately locked and requires an instructor to manually reopen it. Because this setting requires an instructor to be physically present to manage session resets, it is strictly recommended for in-person, proctored assessments only.

Creating Rubrics /brightspace/instructors/creating-rubrics/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=creating-rubrics&utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=creating-rubrics Fri, 12 Feb 2021 20:52:23 +0000 /brightspace/instructors/?page_id=132 Rubrics are evaluation grids with rows of grading criteria arranged into achievement levels. In D2L Brightspace, assessments and rubrics can be built separately in the Course Admin panel and then attached to activities, or a rubric can be created within the assessment directly.

Rubrics are excellent tools to help ensure that grading is consistent and clear across multiple graders in a course. Rubrics also help students understand the grading criteria and achievement expectations.

There are two types of rubrics:

  • Analytic rubrics use multiple criteria and allow for feedback at each criterion level. Analytic rubrics make the most sense when different assessment categories are important. Analytic rubrics can be scored using text, points, and custom points. When you create a rubric, the default is that it will be an Analytic rubric. Review the video tutorial of .
  • Holistic rubrics use a single criterion with defined levels of achievement. Holistic rubrics are best used to evaluate overall performance. Holistic rubrics use percentages and text scores. Review the video tutorial of .

Rubrics can be created when you are initially creating and assignment or they can be added after the assignment has been created. To view sample rubrics, see the ePortfolio Grading Rubrics page.

Rubrics can be used in multiple places within Brightspace:
