ALiGN researcher Nasreen Rajani<\/a> presented a paper titled \u201cSilencing violence 2.0: Examining online activism by marginalized groups in ending violence against women in Canada\u201d at the Mediating Change Conference<\/a>, held on 1-2 November 2018 at University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, USA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference was an interdisciplinary media and justice conference for researchers, media practitioners, educators, and activists. The conference focused on “the roles of media in creating a more equitable, inclusive, sustainable, and just society.”  Its goal was “to bring scholars, media practitioners, educators, and\/or activists together in one space so that we can all learn from and about each other\u2019s research, creative projects, tools, and strategies.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rajani is currently completing her doctoral dissertation on digital media and activism of minority groups against violence against women in Canada.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
