Professor Audra Diptee has recently published an article entitled “The Problem of Modern Day Slavery: Is Critical Applied History the Answer?” in the journal Slavery & Abolition<\/a>. \u00a0<\/i>Her article proposes a methodology that better enables historians to engage with contemporary issues such as human trafficking. \u00a0This is part of her larger project History as Weapon: Writing Radical Caribbean Histories. \u00a0<\/i>In 2018, \u00a0Dr. Diptee will\u00a0be developing her ideas on history and modern-day slavery further at the Bellagio Center in Italy as she was recently awarded<\/a> a Rockefellar Residency Writing Fellowship.<\/p>\n
