• Includes: Digital Gateway (Empowering Afghan Women in STEAM) and a comprehensive online platform named to serve as a central hub for educational content, networking opportunities, and mentorship;

• Aims to empower participants through free, high-quality educational programs and foster a community that celebrates and supports women’s achievements in STEAM;

• Engages a significant number of participants, with 320 applications received and 60 students enrolled across the Data Science Essentials course;

• Ensures participants not only learn critical tech skills but also gain exposure to global challenges, such as the Women in Data Science Worldwide Datathon.

The insights gained from interviews emphasized the importance of their involvement in political processes, documenting historical moments in Afghan contemporary history on women’s political roles and participation, changes in political scenarios and changing roles of women (especially since 2001).

The project provides the newcomers with a platform to share their own narratives and stories while helping the readers to better understand the context in which these stories have been lived and shaped people’s lives. Additionally, the project also helps preserve oral histories through documenting refugees’ stories and preventing the loss of valuable cultural and historical knowledge.

• Activists interviewed 15 Afghan civil society activists who have settled in different cities and provinces in Canada, documenting their stories of displacement, activism in exile and contribution to Afghanistan;

• Future dissemination plan includes exhibitions, library tours, advocacy platforms, museums etc.

The two systems of laws are compared in order to highlight similarities and differences in the respective legal systems.

• The toolkit is translated into Dari and Pashto in order to be accessible to local Afghan communities. The language used in the toolkit is deemed to be culturally appropriate and easily understandable. For non-Afghan audiences, it is available in English. Its simplicity and ease of use make it a valuable resource for those seeking to enhance their knowledge and engagement in the field of child rights.
