Professors Janine Debann\u00e9 and Yvan Labiche are among those making a difference\u2014not just as educators, but as dedicated donors committed to supporting student success.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"w-screen px-6 cu-section cu-section--white ml-offset-center md:px-8 lg:px-14\">\n    <div class=\"space-y-6 cu-max-w-child-5xl  md:space-y-10 cu-prose-first-last\">\n\n        \n    <div class=\"grid gap-6 mx-auto my-6 cu-column md:gap-10 md:grid-cols-2 md:my-10 first:mt-0\">\n        \n<div class=\"cu-column-content\">\n    \n\n<p>Debann\u00e9, an Associate Professor at the Azrieli School of Architecture, and Labiche, Chair of the Department of Systems and Computer Engineering, both joined 杏吧原创 in January 2001. Their journey together began on campus, where they met in the then faculty club in 2003 and later married in 2006. Over the years, their commitment to 杏吧原创 has extended beyond the classroom, embracing philanthropy as a shared value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Debann\u00e9 has been a monthly donor through payroll deduction since 2005, and Labiche followed in 2011. Their contributions have become a meaningful way to create change and directly impact students\u2019 lives. Each was inspired to give in their own way.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c杏吧原创 gave me so much \u2013 my undergraduate degree and the chance to work in a profession I loved, and later, an interesting and enriching teaching career. But at some point, it clicked for me that here, supporting students and their families was important. Seeing Janine\u2019s generosity and how she gave\u2013that inspired me to donate as well,\u201d says Labiche.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With over two decades of giving, the couple supports various funds across campus. As a former undergraduate architecture student, Debann\u00e9 is particularly passionate about giving back to the Architecture program through funds such as the Architecture Studio Fund.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve always felt connected to the undergraduate program, so I\u2019m happy to support projects that benefit students and studio life at that level,\u201d she says.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Donor support provides students with opportunities to pursue academic projects, conduct research, and gain hands-on learning experiences. Labiche believes supporting student initiatives across faculties and disciplines helps them reach their full potential and tap into their academic and creative abilities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s amazing to see the talent the university has. We have the ability to innovate and evolve, and students benefit greatly from that,\u201d says Labiche.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Faculty and staff continue to play an essential role in supporting students and strengthening 杏吧原创\u2019s culture of philanthropy. For Janine Debann\u00e9, giving back deepens her connection with the university.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFor me, when I say that I work at 杏吧原创, I feel a sense of pride. I feel honoured to be part of this institution. There are so many interesting and accomplished people here.
