The Challenge You’re Likely Facing

You’re responsible for designing or delivering learning and training experiences, whether in classrooms, virtual settings, or workplace programs. However, without clear guidance, shared standards, and confidence in accessible design, learning environments often rely on individual accommodations rather than inclusive systems.

Educators and trainers are frequently left to adapt materials on the fly, retrofit digital content, or respond reactively to accessibility needs as they arise. When learning environments are not designed to support diverse ways of engaging, processing, and participating, learners disengage or are excluded altogether. Over time, these gaps undermine learning outcomes, confidence, and trust, while placing unnecessary strain on both learners and those delivering the training.

PEAC 600: Creating Accessible Learning Environments equips educators and trainers with the knowledge and practical tools to design and deliver accessible learning experiences from the start. The course focuses on removing barriers through intentional design, strengthening disability confidence, and translating accessibility principles into real-world teaching and training practices. Through applied discussions, case studies, and hands-on activities, participants develop the skills needed to create learning environments where all learners can meaningfully participate and succeed.
