Projects<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Accessibility Institute is always looking to join or start new projects that will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Increase 杏吧原创 University\u2019s profile as a leader in accessibility research and development.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support increased program emphasis in all faculties in areas of disability, universal design, accessibility and inclusion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support research and solution based projects on accessibility in all disciplines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engage students and faculty at 杏吧原创 with people with disabilities and the broader community locally, nationally and globally, offering interactive learning opportunities for students and support and solutions to the community.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"collaborate-with-the-accessibility-institute\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Collaborate with the Accessibility Institute<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Accessibility Institute is seeking partnerships with 杏吧原创 University faculty and external researchers in Canada and internationally who are interested in integrating accessibility perspectives into ongoing or future projects within their home discipline and field of research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Research collaborations with the Accessibility Institute will provide you with the opportunity to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Engage in a highly interdisciplinary and applied field of accessibility that contributes to innovation across sectors and a more inclusive society.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leverage the Institute\u2019s existing relationships and networks in accessibility, including higher education, government, not-for-profit, and industry.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access support during grant development in addition to institutional research services (e.g. accessibility-specific proposal content, or interactions with accessibility funding programs and organizations).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Receive Institute support post-award (hiring of project staff, finance management, etc.) in addition to one\u2019s regular institutional post-award services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Benefit from the Institute\u2019s subject matter expertise in accessibility (as co-PI\u2019s, research partners, advising on EDI, ensuring thorough accessibility of projects, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborate with researchers from diverse disciplines and facilitate recruitment of research partners across non-academic sectors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gain guidance and practice in engaging with community groups with lived experience of disability and facilitating collaborative, participative, and equitable research practices and knowledge mobilization.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop a relationship with the Institute as a national leader in the emerging field of accessibility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Those interested in a research collaboration with the Accessibility Institute should be prepared to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Allocate a negotiated budget proportion for core Institute support (e.g. subject matter expertise) to the Accessibility Institute as a partner on a grant.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Where possible\/appropriate, plan to budget for research project staff, including a research lead, project coordinator, and\/or research assistants.
