The Social Economy Centre recently featured Alterna Savings\u2019 Microfinance program, affiliated with SSHRC CURA \u201cBusiness Done Differently.\u201d A part of Alterna\u2019s Community Economic Development pillar and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) portfolio, the collaborative Microfinance research under way with 3ci researcher\u00a0Ted Jackson\u00a0and Research Assistant\u00a0Chinyere Amadi\u00a0draws on the Alterna Savings\u2019 Community Microfinance Program previously conducted by 3ci with the primary goals of increasing the number of businesses owned and\/or operated by marginalized individuals in Canada, enhancing cooperation amongst Microfinance borrowers from different industries, and enhancing the business knowledge of members. To date this research has produced two formal reports currently being utilized to draft a chapter for a book on Social Business.
