CIIX Charlottetown Pilot Project Profiled by CBC /3ci/2017/ciix-charlottetown-pilot-project/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=ciix-charlottetown-pilot-project Tue, 18 Apr 2017 14:38:09 +0000 http://carleton.ca/3ci/?p=3367 As provincial governments across Canada prepare to roll out carbon tax programs and federal infrastructure funding programs align with the mandate of the current government, it is anticipated that, going forward, infrastructure projects will need to demonstrate their long-term approach to sustainability. Projects will need to quantify not only financial costs but also environmental and social costs and benefits to the community as well.

The CIIX Charlottetown pilot aims to address these issues by converting a waste facility to a sustainable energy recovery facility.  For more on this pilot, please to see the article by Brian Higgins of the CBC.

CIIX to pilot in three communities in Canada /3ci/2017/ciix-pilot-three-communities-canada/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=ciix-pilot-three-communities-canada Wed, 11 Jan 2017 21:48:04 +0000 http://carleton.ca/3ci/?p=3346 The Canadian Impact Infrastructure Exchange (CIIX) launched its pilot program with City of Vancouver, City of Toronto and City of Charlottetown  that will analyze three real world infrastructure projects.  Beginning in late 2016,  we will perform a comprehensive sustainability analysis of the three proposed infrastructure plans (or design, depending on project stage) ensuring high ESG standards integrated in the infrastructure offering.  We will bundle the three small projects into an investment ready opportunity and engage responsible and impact investors in this opportunity. The pilots will test this approach to creating high ESG standards in an infrastructure portfolio for responsible investors.
